I added project pages for David’s stints in Curtains, Spamalot and Hamlet. You can access them by hovering over the THEATRE menu on the top bar.
The Curtains and Spamalot pages are unchanged from the old site, but I added a David quote to the Hamlet page, about what it’s like “working with Romanians.”
I know the pages are looking a bit bare, but never fear – I’m going to go on a picture binge at some point this week.
Stay tuned for film and TV pages later this week!
A third location for David’s concert collaboration with Michael Feinstein has been announced. Just to recap: they’re doing a “song-filled evening” at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, CA on Sunday 22 November, and then they’ll have a holiday-themed month-long residency at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in New York from 1-30 December.
But it now seems the Holiday Show will have its first outing at the Paramount Center For the Arts in Peekskill, NY, on Saturday 28 November:
Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum recording artist Michael Feinstein is the Director of Popular Song Series at Jazz at Lincoln Center and widely regarded as the ambassador of the American Songbook. David Hyde Pierce is best known as Niles Crane from TV’s Frasier but also has made quite a name for himself as Robin – and others – in Broadway’s Spamalot, A Wonderful Life and Curtains for which he won a Tony Award in 2007.
Comedy, music and theater collide as they give us the premiere east coast performance of their collaboration in an evening of stories and songs for the first time at the Paramount in Peekskill!
For anyone who’d like to see the Holiday Show but is a bit strapped for cash, this seems like a good option – the tickets are going for as low as $35, whereas the Loews Regency ones start at a hefty $90.
We just realised that David’s episode of Titus, ‘Life Forward’, is on YouTube. We are most pleased. (For those of you who don’t know – Titus is the deliciously dark Fox sitcom co-created by Brian Hargrove, David’s partner.) David plays Jerry October, a delightfully sleazy life coach. David attended a cocktail party in support of the Actors Fund Special Campaign Responding to Essential and Evolving Needs on 11 November. As co-host for the evening, he made a bit of a speech:
“Many of us have heard the moving stories of people helped by The Actors Fund – people who are challenged to make ends meet because of unforeseen medical conditions, natural and human disasters, low wages, and expensive living costs. There are so many more stories we could share with you – stories of people securing affordable and supportive residences, finding free or low-cost medical care, obtaining financial assistance to make ends meet, and receiving counseling and crisis intervention. The Actors Fund ensures that those who dedicate themselves professionally to the arts have the support they need to continue their creative work. Personally, I have joined this effort to make sure my colleagues have the assistance they need during difficult times. The leadership of The Actors Fund has worked hard over the last few months to lay the groundwork, build the leadership team, and secure much-appreciated early support for a successful effort.”

David was one of many starry types to turn out for the Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala on 22 October. The gala was raising funds for research to find a cure, a cause David has long been involved in. Here’s a snippet from The Jewish Daily Forward:
“Alzheimer’s took both my grandfather and my father,” said David Hyde Pierce, who whimsically informed, “Yes, I used to be Niles” — a reference to the character he portrayed in the long-running TV sitcom Frasier, currently in reruns. “There are two dozen drugs in clinical tests at this time,” Pierce said. A star of such recent Broadway hits as Spamalot and Curtains, Pierce, who also had a supporting role in the 1988 film Crossing Delancey (back then, he was known as David Pierce), admitted that being “unemployed” was the reason he was able to attend the gala.
Here’s a recent video of David being interviewed outside the Broadway premiere of Jude Law’s Hamlet last month. He’s a Jude fan, apparently! Some interesting clips from the play, too.
David was spotted attending the Emery Awards in New York on 10 November. The Emerys are hosted by the Hetrick-Martin Institute, home of the Harvey Milk High School, and dedicated to helping LGBTQ teenagers reach their full potential.
Here’s David with awesome actors Victor Garber and Debra Monk:

US residents can watch some DHP rarities for free on Hulu, such as a 1992 episode of Dream On, ‘The Guilty Party’, in which David guest-stars; an episode of The Outer Limits, ‘The Sentence’, with David giving one of his best dramatic performances; and The Addams Family Values, in which David has a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role as a doctor before the credits.
