HarperCollins have posted an excerpt of David’s Grammy-nominated The Phantom Tollbooth up at their website. Click HERE to listen!
We like it – playful and kidlike, but also understated. Let’s hope the Grammy judges like it too!

He has the best reading voice together with Stephen Fry
Thanks for putting up the photo from our recording session together! For all you David Hyde Pierce fans, be on the lookout for his performance of the new song, “Goodbye to Boston” on the forthcoming “No More Revivals” CD… a collection of new songs from writers who have been through the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop featuring some of the best Broadway singers around!
Hey Michael … we sort of stole that pic as a ‘DHP in recording studio’ illustration … we will definitely promote the CD when it comes out though! Sounds great!
Does anyone know if this is available for download online anywhere? I’ll happily pay for it – for something like this, it’s just easier to download. I’ve looked some but haven’t seen anything.
It’s not on Audible, iTunes, Amazon, or indeed the HarperAudio website … very odd, as you’d think a download would be much less expensive to release – and more likely to be bought – than a CD!
I finally broke down and got this on amazon (pretty reasonable at $16 or so). Have been listening to it over the past few days, and it’s just fantastic. He does a lot of different voices – REALLY different. Sometimes, if I didn’t already know he was narrating it, i wouldn’t know it was him. Definitely recommend it!
